Shares of ACC rallied over 6 per cent on the Bombay Stock Exchange after the company reported a fall of 8.9 per cent in its consolidated net profit after taxes (PAT) at Rs 211.06 crore for the first quarter ended March 31, 2017, albeit, beating analysts estimates of Rs 162 crore, helped by higher sales volume.
Following Q1, shares of the cement maker gained as much as 6.32 per cent to hit intra-day high of Rs 1591.30 apiece on the Bombay Stock Exchange. The scrip was currently trading at Rs 1585.00 against previous close price of Rs 1496.75.
In a similar fashion, stocks of company were trading 6.12 per cent higher at Rs 1,586.95 apiece on the National Stock Exchange.
Meanwhile, the broader benchmark BSE Sensex was trading at 29,509.80, up 144.50 points or 0.49 per cent, at 11:45 hour.
