Shares of Vedanta tumbled over 4 per cent, hitting 52-week low, on the Bombay Stock Exchange after the media reports suggested that the company is facing another Sterlite like crisis in Orissa.
Reacting to the news, stocks of the company declined as much as 4.16 per cent and touched 52-week low of Rs 228.80 apiece on the Bombay Stock Exchange.
In a similar trend, shares of the firm were trading 3.27 per cent lower at Rs 230.80 apiece on the National Stock Exchange.
Meanwhile, the broader benchmark BSE Sensex was trading at 35,601.66, down 20.48 points, or 0.06 per cent at 11:44 hours.
