Shares of Jaiprakash Associates rallied over 6 per cent on the Bombay Stock Exchange after the company said it has secured a Rs 2,850-crore contract from Chenab Valley Power Projects.
Cheering the news, stocks of the company gained as much as 6.36 per cent and touched an intra-day high of Rs 16.70 apiece on the Bombay Stock Exchange.
In a similar trend, shares of the firm were trading 5.10 per cent higher at Rs 16.50 apiece on the National Stock Exchange.
Meanwhile, the broader benchmark BSE Sensex was trading at 35,889.57, up 231.71 points, or 0.67 per cent at 12:40 hours.
