Shares of Karnataka Bank soared nearly 4 per cent on the Bombay Stock Exchange ahead of its second quarter numbers slated to be released later in the day.
The private sector lender in a filing to BSE said that it has opened its 819th Branch at Hyderabad - Sanath Nagar on Thursday.
Ahead of Q2, shares of the bank gained as much as 3.76 per cent and touched an intra-day high of Rs 102.05 apiece on the Bombay Stock Exchange.
In a similar trend, stocks of the lender were trading at Rs 101.40 apiece, up 2.63 per cent, on the National Stock Exchange.
Meanwhile, the broader benchmark BSE Sensex was trading at 34,641.42, up 640.27 points, or 1.88 per cent, from the previous close on the BSE at 11:05 hours.
