Country’s largest integrated power firm Tata Power Company Ltd on Wednesday said its Strategic Engineering Division (SED) has secured a pilot project order from the home ministry to supply Comprehensive Integrated Border Management System (CIBMS) to Border Security Force (BSF).
“Tata Power SED wins a prestigious pilot project order from Ministry of Home Affairs for supply of Comprehensive Integrated Border Management System (CIBMS) to Border Security Force (BSF),” the company said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange on June 21, 2017.
The company further said that, this order is an initial phase of the larger border management project of Ministry of Home Affairs to enable round-the-clock surveillance of Indian borders and to ensure every inch of area of interest is kept under vigil by our forces.
CIBMS is an indigenously designed and developed system which will boost 'Make in India' initiative and allow BSF to have in-country life cycle support & upgrades.
It further added that, SED will extend the system to all types of terrain as and when required by BSF on short timelines.
Commenting on the order win, Tata Power SED, CEO, Rahul Chaudhry said, “We are already exporting our optronics products with capabilities such as data analytics, image fusion, remote monitoring & surveillance and verifying threat identity etc., which will help us in deploying a reliable solution for BSF.”
Meanwhile, shares of the company closed at Rs 81.80 apiece, down 0.43 per cent, from previous close on BSE.
