Indian benchmark indices are expected to start the day in red on Friday amid feeble global cues as rising US Treasury yields again rattled equity investors. Besides, a jump in crude oil prices could add to the selling pressure.
Among individuals, Heranba Industries is slated to list its shares on bourses today. The issue price has been fixed at Rs 627 per share. The issue was subscribed 83 times, with the retail investors portion getting subscribed 11 times.
On Thursday, the 30-share benchmark index ended at 50846.08 down by -598.57 points or by -1.16 % and then NSE Nifty was at 15080.75 down by -164.85 points or by -1.08 %.
On the global front, Wall Street ended sharply lower on Thursday, leaving the Nasdaq down nearly 10% from its February record high, after remarks from Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell disappointed investors worried about rising longer-term U.S. bond yields.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 1.11% to end at 30,924.14 points, while the S&P 500 lost 1.34% to 3,768.47. The Nasdaq Composite dropped 2.11% to 12,723.47.
Asian stocks skidded on Friday as rising U.S. Treasury yields again rattled equity investors while hoisting the dollar to a three-month high, which in turn dragged the Japanese yen to an eight-month trough.
In early Friday trade, Australian stocks shed 1%, Japan’s Nikkei share average lost 0.7%, shares in Seoul fell 0.24% and E-Mini S&P futures were a touch lower at 0.04%.

On NSE Future and Options, total number of contracts traded in index futures was 475448 with a total turnover of Rs. 47792.65 Crore. Along with this total number of contracts traded in stock futures were 827919 with a total turnover of Rs. 78209.29 Crore. Total numbers of contracts for index options were 90842271 with a total turnover of Rs. 8872824.53 Crore. and total numbers of contracts for stock options were 1437641 with a total turnover of Rs. 136581.82 Crore.
The FIIs on 04/03/2021 stood as net buyer in equity and debt. Gross equity purchased stood at Rs. 11214.49 Crore and gross debt purchased stood at Rs. 150.61 Crore, while the gross equity sold stood at Rs. 8781.22 Crore and gross debt sold stood at Rs. 2286.75 Crore. Therefore, the net investment of equity and debt reported were Rs. 2433.27 Crore and Rs. -2136.14
