Indian benchmark indices continued to hover in red during the morning deals amid selling in index heavyweights including IndusInd Bank, State Bank of India, ICICI Bank Ltd., HDFC Bank Ltd. and Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd among others.
Wipro share price was down over 2 percent in the morning session, a day after the Bengaluru-based IT services major said it had acquired Capco, a consultancy firm in the banking and financial services space, for $1.45 billion in its biggest-ever acquisition.
Meanwhile, rupee opened lower at 72.97 per US dollar against March 4 close of 72.83 per US dollar.
At 10:28 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 50637.66 down by -208.42 points or by -0.41 % and then NSE Nifty was at 15041.45 down by -39.3 points or by -0.26 %.
