State-run Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) on Monday said it has successfully commissioned 2 units of 270 MW at RattanIndia Nasik Power Ltd’s 5x270 MW thermal power project in Maharashtra.
“BHEL has successfully commissioned two units of 270 MW at RattanIndia Nasik Power Limited’s 5x270 MW thermal power project, located at Sinnar in Nasik district of Maharashtra,” the company said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange on April 17, 2017.
The scope of work includes - design, engineering, manufacture, supply, erection and commissioning of steam turbines, generators, boilers, associated auxiliaries and electricals, besides state-of-the-art controls & instrumentation (C&I) and electrostatic precipitators (ESPs), it said.
Besides, the equipment for the project was supplied by various manufacturing units of the company located at Trichy, Ranipet, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Bhopal and Haridwar while the construction work was carried out by it’s power sector - western region, the company added.
The company further said that, thermal sets of 270 MW rating are an in-house improvisation of 210/250 MW sets supplied earlier by the company, which today form the backbone of the country’s power sector and have been performing much above the national average as well as international benchmarks.
Moreover, large number of similar sets ensures easy availability of spares and operators’ familiarity and thirteen sets of 270 MW rating have so far been commissioned by the company in India, it added.
Meanwhile, shares of the company closed at Rs 172.75 apiece, down 0.37 per cent, from previous close on BSE.
