Aster DM Healthcare announced on Thursday that it will invest Rs 120 crore to establish five advanced Oncology Radiation LINAC Centres across India as part of its CSR initiative aimed at supporting poor cancer patients.
The initiative is designed to offer free and subsidised radiation therapy to patients from economically weaker sections who are unable to afford or continue essential life-saving treatment, the company said in a statement.
The first centre will be set up in Wayanad, Kerala, and will serve the larger Malabar region, including neighbouring areas such as Gudalur and Gudalpet, Aster added.
