Indian benchmarks are expected to start the day on a negative note today and Investors will track global cues and stock-specific action for market direction. Trends on GIFT Nifty indicate a negative start for the broader index in India, with a loss of 114 points or 0.44 percent. The Nifty futures were trading around 25,551 level.
Meanwhile, Asian markets were mixed this morning, with tech stocks coming under selling pressure following a steep fall in Nvidia shares overnight. U.S. stocks ended mostly lower overnight as concerns over a potential artificial intelligence (AI) bubble overshadowed Nvidia's strong earnings results and upbeat guidance.
On Thursday, the 30-share benchmark index ended at 82248.61 down by -27.46 points or by -0.03 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25496.55 up by 14.05 points or by 0.06 %.
On the commodities front, Gold prices held broadly steady on Friday, with investors digesting the previous day's U.S.-Iran nuclear talks, while the dollar, hovering near three-week highs, pressured the yellow metal.
Oil prices traded on a mixed note on Friday. Brent crude was down 0.14 per cent at $70.75 per barrel, while US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude was trading 0.02 per cent higher at $65.25 per barrel.
Back home, Top traded Volumes on NSE Nifty – Eternal Ltd. 76804030.00, HDFC Bank Ltd. 41165937.00, ICICI Bank Ltd. 27288792.00, Tata Steel Ltd. 25522669.00, Reliance Industries Ltd. 16683858.00.
On NSE, total number of shares traded was 451.82 Crore and total turnover stood at Rs. 108665.76 Crore.
On NSE Future and Options, total number of contracts traded in index futures was 87935 with a total turnover of Rs. 14974.94 Crore. Along with this total number of contracts traded in stock futures were 1187313 with a total turnover of Rs. 82255.40 Crore.
Total numbers of contracts for index options were 71539015 with a total turnover of Rs. 11929791.83 Crore. and total numbers of contracts for stock options were 4429355 with a total turnover of Rs. 315207.78 Crore.
The FIIs on 26/02/2026 stood as net buyer in equity and debt. Gross equity purchased stood at Rs. 17765.70 Crore and gross debt purchased stood at Rs. 2714.44 Crore, while the gross equity sold stood at Rs. 16673.11 Crore and gross debt sold stood at Rs. 2361.49 Crore. Therefore, the net investment of equity and debt reported were Rs. 1092.59 Crore and Rs. 352.95.
