Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL), the hospitality arm of the Tata Group, on Monday announced the signing of a Taj hotel in Cairo, marking the iconic brand’s entry into Egypt.
The upcoming Taj Cairo will feature 300 rooms and will be located at Opera Square in the heart of the Egyptian capital. The hotel will offer all-day dining and specialty restaurants, wellness facilities, and extensive banqueting spaces designed for corporate meetings as well as social events, the company said in a statement.
Commenting on the development, Puneet Chhatwal, Managing Director and CEO of IHCL, said the debut of the Taj brand in Cairo aligns with the company’s international expansion strategy of establishing a presence in key global gateway cities while extending Taj’s signature warm and sincere service to new markets.
The signing further strengthens IHCL’s global footprint and underscores its focus on expanding the Taj brand across prominent international destinations.
