National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management Kundli (NIFTEM-K) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Minority Affairs to implement the PM VIKAS scheme. The MoU was signed on December 22, 2025, in New Delhi, under which NIFTEM-K has been selected as a Project Implementing Agency (PIA).
The scheme aims to strengthen the capacity of youth from minority communities by offering need-based skill training and facilitating employment and livelihood opportunities. NIFTEM-K is among the select Institutes of National Importance (INI) chosen to implement the programme.
Under the project, NIFTEM-K will train 2,110 beneficiaries from minority communities across three skill categories — Multi Skill Technician (Food Processing), Millet Products Processor, and Assistant Baking Technician. The training will be conducted across seven locations in Jharkhand, Bihar, Punjab, and Haryana, with a focus on improving employability and enabling access to market and credit linkages.
The initiative will provide NSQF-compliant training through NCVET-approved courses and support placement of eligible candidates in wage employment, self-employment, or apprenticeships, including roles in the organised sector. All participants will receive certification from MSDE/NCVET-approved institutions. The programme is expected to be launched in January 2026.
