Ai+ Smartphone has entered into a manufacturing partnership with Optiemus Electronics Limited (OEL), a subsidiary of Optiemus Infracom Limited, to produce smartphones and other smart devices in India.
Under the agreement, the two companies plan to invest approximately ?125 crore over the next five years to expand manufacturing capabilities in India, in line with the Government’s Make in India initiative. The collaboration is expected to generate around 1,200 direct and indirect jobs across manufacturing, operations, and supporting functions.
As part of the partnership, Optiemus Electronics will manufacture around 3 million Ai+ smartphone devices. The manufacturing scope will also include tablets, IoT products, and advanced wearable devices, enabling Ai+ Smartphone to establish a scalable production base in India for its broader smart device portfolio.
Production will take place at OEL’s facility in Noida, with manufacturing ramp-up scheduled to begin from April 2026.
Ai+ Smartphone devices operate on NxtQuantum OS, a sovereign mobile operating system built on Android and designed to prioritize transparency, security, and compliance with Indian data regulations.
Commenting on the partnership, Madhav Sheth, CEO of Ai+ Smartphone and Founder of NxtQuantum Shift Technologies, said the agreement marks an important step toward building a strong domestic technology ecosystem. He noted that while many smart devices in India are dominated by global brands, there is significant opportunity for a domestic brand focused on quality, security, and technological sovereignty. The collaboration combines Optiemus’ electronics manufacturing expertise with Ai+ Smartphone’s India-developed software stack and product roadmap spanning smartphones, tablets, AIoT devices, and wearables.
The partnership is expected to strengthen Ai+ Smartphone’s long-term strategy of building an India-first portfolio across connected devices while keeping supply chains closer to home and ensuring tighter quality control. It will also support the company’s plans to scale production and expand into new device categories.
Ashok Gupta said the company is excited to collaborate with Ai+ Smartphone, an Indian brand focused on scale, security, and long-term market commitment. He added that Optiemus’ manufacturing infrastructure and experience in electronics manufacturing services will help support Ai+ Smartphone as it increases production volumes and expands into new product categories from India.
The agreement is expected to strengthen India’s domestic electronics manufacturing ecosystem and support Ai+ Smartphone’s ambition to build a scalable technology brand across smartphones, tablets, IoT devices, and advanced wearable products, while preparing the platform for potential export growth in the future.
