India and Singapore held the 16th Defence Policy Dialogue in Singapore on May 28, 2026, where senior officials from both countries reviewed ongoing defence engagements and explored opportunities to further strengthen their strategic partnership.
The discussions covered a wide range of areas, including military cooperation, defence industry collaboration, capacity building and regional security. Both sides also identified new avenues for cooperation between their defence industries and institutions.
A key focus of the dialogue was enhancing collaboration in emerging and technology-driven domains such as cyber security, artificial intelligence, maritime security, unmanned systems and advanced defence technologies. The two countries emphasized the importance of innovation-led partnerships to address evolving regional and global security challenges.
India and Singapore also reaffirmed their commitment to working together through regional and multilateral platforms, including ASEAN-led mechanisms and the ASEAN Defence Ministers' Meeting-Plus (ADMM-Plus), while supporting a free, open and rules-based Indo-Pacific region.
The meeting highlighted the importance of sustained high-level engagement and deeper institutional cooperation in advancing bilateral defence ties. During the visit, Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh also toured Singapore's Digital Operations Technology Centre to gain insights into the country's digital and intelligence capabilities and explore potential collaboration in next-generation warfare technologies.
