Indian benchmarks continued to extend losses during the noon trading session tracking the mixed cues from Asian markets. Except oil & gas, consumer durables, media, IT, all other sectoral indices are trading in red with private, auto, FMCG, realty, metal down 0.5-1%. Nifty Midcap index sheds 0.5% and smallcap index down 1%.
Overseas, European stocks are seen opening little changed on Friday as investors monitor the latest AI headlines and keep a close eye on Middle East tensions. Asian markets were mixed as tech stocks tumbled following a steep fall in Nvidia shares overnight.
Among individual shares, Sarda Energy & Minerals shares climbed nearly 7 per cent to trade at ₹553.94 on the BSE. Steel Exchange India shares gained 6.2 per cent in trade, logging an intra-day high at ₹8.85 per share on BSE.
At 12:34 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 81673.69 down by -574.92 points or by -0.7 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25272.95 down by -223.6 points or by -0.88 %.
Sensex touched intraday high of 82246.17 and intraday low of 81595.96 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25476.4 and intraday low of 25270.05.
The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Trent Ltd. (Rs. 3910.25,+1.36%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1390.70,+1.26%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1303.55,+1.10%), Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 248.60,+0.89%), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 383.75,+0.50%), among others.
The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 1873.20,-2.87%), InterGlobe Aviation Ltd. (Rs. 4832.25,-2.13%), UltraTech Cement Ltd. (Rs. 12705.00,-1.77%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (Rs. 2008.85,-1.59%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 14982.55,-1.52%), among others.
