Benchmark indices were trading lower on Friday amid mixed cues from global peers. Among sectors, the Nifty Auto, FMCG, Realty, Chemicals and Financial Services indices were down over 1 per cent each. The IT index, however, was up nearly 1 per cent.
On the corporate front, Tejas Networks stock price today extended its upward movement, surging 15 per cent to ₹429.15 on the BSE in intra-day trade. While Capital market stocks including BSE and Angel One fell up to 4 per cent in trade today.
At 14:27 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 81675.96 down by -572.65 points or by -0.7 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25324.55 down by -172 points or by -0.67 %.
The BSE Sensex touched intraday high of 82246.17 and intraday low of 81589.21 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25476.4 and intraday low of 25268.70.
The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Trent Ltd. (Rs. 3913.05,+1.43%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1390.95,+1.27%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1303.50,+1.10%), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 383.55,+0.45%), Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 247.05,+0.26%), among others.
The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 1881.50,-2.44%), InterGlobe Aviation Ltd. (Rs. 4820.00,-2.38%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (Rs. 417.00,-1.78%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1755.35,-1.64%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (Rs. 2008.00,-1.63%), among others.
