Unclaimed deposits with banks across the country, including private sector lenders, stood at Rs 67,003 crore as of June 30, 2025, the government informed Parliament on Monday.
According to data from the Reserve Bank of India, public sector banks accounted for Rs 58,330.26 crore of the total unclaimed amount, while private sector banks held ?8,673.72 crore.
Among public sector banks, the State Bank of India (SBI) reported the highest amount of unclaimed deposits at Rs 19,329.92 crore, followed by Punjab National Bank with Rs 6,910.67 crore and Canara Bank with Rs 6,278.14 crore, Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary stated in a written reply to the Lok Sabha.
