The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Tuesday released the draft Reserve Bank – Ombudsman Scheme, 2025 and invited public and stakeholder comments on the proposed framework.
The draft scheme is a revision of the RBI – Integrated Ombudsman Scheme (RB-IOS), 2021, which was launched on November 12, 2021, to provide customers of regulated entities (REs) a fast, cost-effective, and efficient grievance redressal mechanism. The review of the scheme has been conducted based on operational experience, stakeholder feedback, and international best practices.
Comments on the draft scheme can be submitted until October 28, 2025, through the ‘Connect 2 Regulate’ section on the RBI website, via email, or by sending feedback to:
The Chief General Manager
Consumer Education and Protection Department, Central Office
Reserve Bank of India
1st Floor, Amar Building, Fort, Mumbai – 400 001
The RBI aims to use the feedback to refine the scheme and further strengthen consumer grievance redressal in the financial sector.
