South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL), a Miniratna subsidiary of Coal India Limited (CIL), has rolled out its Special Campaign 5.0 with a robust plan to promote cleanliness, efficiency, and sustainable waste management across its operational and administrative locations in Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh.
Under this initiative, SECL has set an ambitious target to clean and rejuvenate over 37.5 lakh sq. ft. of area across 203 identified sites. The campaign also includes the safe disposal of around 3,000 metric tonnes of scrap material, review of 2,000 physical files and 6,500 e-files, and closure of about 2,700 e-files after verification. Additionally, the company will create “Best out of Waste” artworks to encourage innovation and promote the circular economy.
Special Campaign 5.0 places strong emphasis on sustainable housekeeping and digital transformation through systematic file management and documentation, aligning with the Government of India’s vision for “Swachhata” and improved governance efficiency.
In the previous Special Campaign 4.0, SECL had surpassed its targets across multiple categories, ranking first among all coal PSUs in space cleaned, scrap disposed, and public outreach efforts — setting a national benchmark in execution and communication.
