Vedanta Limited said its subsidiary Talwandi Sabo Power Ltd (TSPL) has been directed to pay around Rs 127 crore, along with applicable late payment surcharge, to Punjab State Power Corporation Limited following a Supreme Court judgment.
The company informed exchanges that the apex court has overturned the earlier ruling of the Appellate Tribunal for Electricity (APTEL) and restored the order passed by the Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission.
The ruling relates to an alleged misdeclaration of power availability by TSPL in January 2017 under Grid Code provisions. The Supreme Court upheld the penalty imposed by the regulator along with the associated late payment surcharge.
