The Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) has launched the National e-Governance Service Delivery Assessment (NeSDA) 2025 Portal, marking another step towards improving digital governance and citizen-centric service delivery across India.
NeSDA is a biennial assessment framework designed to evaluate the effectiveness, accessibility and maturity of online government services from a citizen's perspective. Based on the United Nations Online Service Index and adapted to India's federal structure, the framework assesses digital service delivery across States, Union Territories and key Central Ministries.
For NeSDA 2025, the assessment scope has been expanded to include services under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs. The framework will evaluate 59 mandatory services across States and UTs and 43 services offered by Central Ministries and Departments.
The assessment will cover multiple parameters, including accessibility, ease of use, information security, privacy, integrated service delivery, service tracking, open government data, e-participation and the adoption of emerging technologies.
The NeSDA 2025 portal will serve as a centralized platform for data collection and assessment, helping governments identify service delivery gaps, adopt best practices and improve citizens' experience with digital public services.
