Indian benchmark indices ended in red on Friday, with the Sensex declining more than 600 points and the Nifty50 hovering just above the 24,000 level.
The sharp weakness was largely driven by a selloff in information technology stocks after global IT major Accenture issued a subdued sales and revenue outlook. The disappointing guidance raised concerns over growth prospects for the IT sector, triggering broad-based selling in technology shares and weighing on overall market sentiment.
The 30-share benchmark index ended at 76802.9 down by -607.08 points or by -0.78 % and then NSE Nifty was at 24013.1 down by -154.9 points or by -0.64 %.
