Indian benchmark indices ended in red on Tuesday on weak global cues as investors remain cautious ahead of the Bank of England and Federal Reserve meetings.
The market started the day gap up but saw profit- booking to close lower on Dhanteras, an auspicious day for Hindus who buy gold, silver or utensils to mark the day.
The 30-share benchmark index ended at 60029.06 down by -109.4 points or by -0.18 % and then NSE Nifty was at 17888.95 down by -40.7 points or by -0.23 %.
Sensex touched intraday high of 60421.14 and intraday low of 59881.75 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 18012.25 and intraday low of 17847.6
