Benchmark indices continued to trade negative with Nifty hovering around 17800 and Sensex down 500 points despite a sharp rebound in select Asian peers.
Index heavyweight Reliance Industries was down 1.8 per cent at Rs 2,477, and along with Infosys and ICICI Bank was responsible for more than 50 per cent of the losses on the Sensex.
The 30-share benchmark index was trading at 59218.44 down by -880.38 points or by -1.46 % and then NSE Nifty was at 17685.6 down by -252.8 points or by -1.41 %.
Sensex touched intraday high of 60045.48 and intraday low of 59154.17 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 17943.7 and intraday low of 17670.85

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (Rs. 17195.30,-4.93%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1819.05,-2.60%), Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 2553.35,-2.49%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 817.75,-2.42%), Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 2462.70,-2.33%), among others.
