Shares of Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) spurted over 2 per cent on the Bombay Stock Exchange after state-run NTPC said it has decided to exit the joint venture with the company.
Following the announcement, stocks of the company gained as much as 2.03 per cent to touch an intra-day high of Rs 90.05 apiece on the Bombay Stock Exchange.
In a similar trend, shares of the firm were trading 1.47 per cent higher at Rs 89.75 apiece on the National Stock Exchange.
Meanwhile, the broader benchmark BSE Sensex was trading at 34,365.14, down 62.15 points, or 0.18 per cent at 11:30 hours.
